RIVER OAKS - Sandra L. Peel- Colwell passed away at her home, Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023.

Sandra was born July 16, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas to Lee Andrew Sanderson and Clara Beatrice Wells- Sanderson of Kennedale, Texas, joining her sister, Sheila  Sanderson  Bell  of  Houston,

Texas. She enjoyed watching her kids at horse shows, reading Stephen King books, listening to Elvis Pressley, sewing, relaxing by her pool, RV getaways and BBQ cookouts. Everyone knew her passion was her kids but, she always said her purpose was to be a "Nana" to her grandkids.

Graduating from L.D. Bell and secretarial school, after a long period with Rector Well Equipment Co., in Mansfield, Texas, she moved on to her dream job. In 1989, she started with Tarrant County Sheriffs Department, quickly promoted to the Sheriff's Executive Assistant. Directly working for Sheriff David E. Williams from 1994-2000 and retiring from her career under Sheriff Dee B. Anderson in 2016.

Sandra was preceded by death by her parents; and sister.

Survivors: Children, James Edward Peel, Dana LeRay Peel-Gill and Amy Paulette Peel-Fryar; niece, Robyn Bell; daughter-in-law, Kristi Black Peel; grandchildren, Jack, Huntington, Hayden, Ethan and Carys.
