Current Pictures of Old Places

Present day image of the entrance to the old Bell High School on Raider Drive. Today, it is the Keys Learning Center. On the Bedford-Euless Road west of Hurstview Drive is Danny Ds BBQ on the right, once known as Docs BBQ. This was once the Hurst Lions Club building where dances were held. Today, it is a Hurst Community Center Entrance to the Barbrook Swimming Pool in Haltom City. On Pipeline Road, this was the Buddies Shopping Center. Old Bell High looking south between the Gym and Shop Building. Connies Uptown Drive-in was a favorite hangout. Now, as you can see, a CVS Pharmacy now occupies that location. This was once known as the Astoria Motor Lodge on Highway 183 across from Bell Helicopter. Looking to the west, the Gym is on the left, south wing on the right; in the distance is Central Junior High where Pennington Field was located and the wide open spaces. South parking lot and Gym of old Bell High. Walkway from the south wing of Old Bell High to the Band Hall. Once was Jack Clarks Hamburgers, buyem by the sack from Jack. Dont know if this is the original building, but today it is some taco joint.

David Henrys engraved name on the Vietnam Memorial (The WALL) in Washington, DC. David was a combat infantryman who in 1967 was killed in action while serving with the 9th Infantry Division. Judy Glasgow-Hatfield, Paula Mikel-Clements, Judy Water-Baldwin and Beverly Ward-Jones. Bruce Arnold and his 3-year old grandson Max taking a ride on Chester. A chance meeting of John Hastings and Kit Jones at a corporate health fair. (July 2009). Bruce Arnold is a retired USAF pilot, who now works for NASA down in Houston. He pilots a DC-9 jet used to train astronauts for weightlessness. Judy Moser, Susan Ulery (Watson) and Susan Starnes (Haynes). Best friends in high school: Terri (Knight) Crawford, Paige (Joplin) Norman, Gail (Ince) Barton, and Tempie (Shelton) Griffin. This is Bruce Arnold when he had to leave the cockpit of his DC-9 to assist subduing a stowaway snake. Weightlessness is achieved by making a series of very steep dives. David Watson and Joe Gonzales Donna (Schoenberger) Ashford, Beverly Watson (Davids wife) and Mark Ashford. Cheerleaders: Wendy (Pickens) Cone, Dixie (Souder) Marshall and Judy (Glasgow) Hatfield.

Present Day Images, Part Deux

(husband George) took this pic of Kenneth and me on a bridge over the Animas river in Durango Bill Medford left the HEB schools during the 8th grade, but keeps in touch with David and Beverly Watson. Bruce Arnold (left) and Mike Shub are standing by one of our Shuttle Training Aircraft; its an airborne simulator that simulates the shuttles flying qualities. Bruce has been down at KSC flying shuttle approaches with the astronaut crews who will be fly Brenda Durant and Cindy Garris. Another picture of Mike Shub and Bruce at the Shuttle Landing Facility at the Kennedy Space Center. The aircraft is one of our T-38s. Mike is a safety engineer at KSC. Lots of fun was riding the Durango-Silverton NGR together (the Millers and George and me) Ronald Van Artsdalen and his wife, Vera. Ron lives north of Seattle and works for the Boeing Company.
