AZLE -- Bobby Gene Powers, 55, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at local care facility. A Celebration of Bobby's life will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002.

Bobby was born July 26, 1947 in Hobbs, N.M. to the late Lloyd and Olene Luce Powers. He was a man who loved to make people laugh and had a heart as big as Texas. He belived in the value of a good education.

Survivors: Wife of eight years, Debra Powers of Azle; children, Gina Barnes of Brownwood, John Heatherly of Arlington and Joey Floyd of McKenzie, Tenn.; brothers, Lloyd, Tommy and Billy Powers; sisters, Jolene Sears, Jerry Huckabe and Karen Rittenhaus; grandchildren, Kinsey Barnes, Dillon, Victoria and Alec "Dutch" Heatherly, Tori and Shawna Meade, Destiny Floyd, and one more on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
