The last reunion I attended was # 20.  I was a bit nervous but had a great time renewing friendships.  Not sure I will attend this year's renion but I am going to try.

My work over the last 35 years has allowed me to travel from coast to coast and a few other countries.  I now sit behind a computer and count the days until I retire......planning on next February.  A resent knee replacement has restricted my golf play but looking forward to getting back on tee box.

Both my chidren live near .... allowing me the opportunity to spoil my 3 grandchildren.

Comment:

After graduation from LDB, I went to North Texas majoring in French and music (pipe organ) where I graduated in 1969. I was commissioned in the USAF and spent five great years stationed in Homestead (just outside of Miami), Thailand, and northern Japan.

In 1977, I got a Master’s degree in English and my teaching certificate. After 3 years teaching in Clovis, NM, I got a job teaching French and English (which in NM is two foreign languages) in a small town in what’s called the Four Corners Area of New Mexico. I live at the foot of the Rockies but still on the High Desert (7,000’ altitude). In 45 minutes I can be in Durango, Colo. and skiing at Purgatory Ski Resort.

I never married; the “itchy foot of the Yerby’s” kept me from wanting to settle down (It's been said of me that I'd to go to Hell just for the trip). Being a French teacher, I’ve taken many trips to France, often with students.

Now retired from teaching, I work as the Parish Administrator at St. John's Episcopal Church and play the organ on Sundays. My first young adult mystery, The Secret of the Haunted House, was recently published, and I'm working on rewritting the old Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys mysteries but modernizing them by giving the characters cell phones, laptops, and video games.

I am really looking forward to attending this Reunion! It’s gonna be a blast!

Brushes with Greatness: I went to Mardi Gras my senior year at North Texas ((1969) with Phyllis George who became Miss America 1971. While stationed at Homestead AFB in 1971, I got to be an escort at the Miss Universe pageant (escorted Miss Guam)
