Comment: The reunion was awesome...so great to see all the many wonderful classmates. You know we got the best "start" in the world by fate putting us at Lawrence D Bell instead of some other highschool . Truly our class was an amazing group of individuals who cared for and sincerely supported each other. You cannot experience the culture we shared just anywhere: then or now ! So many memories and good times ! One of my greatest blessings.

Comment:
After graduation, I went to Dallas Baptist University. There I met and married my first wife. When you do even the right things for the wrong reasons it has a way of coming back on you in a negative way. I was elated to be the starting pitcher of the first season and first year of the school, but was struggling academically and pulled from the line up and placed on probation. In my disappointment I laid out a semester and was drafted into the military. After serving in the military I migrated through law enforcement into the corporate world in Business Administration and Internal and External investigations. Then there were several years when all the walls fell down and I had no direction and it seemed my compass in life was not calibrated. I lost my family, my friends, my self-respect and most of all myself. I re-married in 1991 to a L. D. Bell graduate, Susan Tidwell. I have two children, Kim and Amy from a previous marriage. Susan and I have reared my oldest grandson, Andrew, since he was approximately a year old. He turned 18 in September 2010. Susan has two children also from a previous marriage, Shannon and Christopher. I have had several careers and continue to dabble in various fields of interest. I eventually went back to school and graduated with honors and a newly found direction. No one prepared us for some things that happen or we are required to react to in life, but life prepares you for many things that can not be forseen. I have enjoyed my life regardless of the ups and downs, good and back choices I continue to look at life as an adventure. Even though I did not know all of you, it brings back memories to look at your comments and your pictures. The fabric of our lives is influenced in these developmental stages of friendships, acquaintances and cirumstances. Whether these relationships were good or bad, they help make us who were are today. Life is not so forgiving, but we should be with one another. Thank you for being part of one of the chapters of this unfinished story. Enjoying His Grace, Danny P. S. For you who were there and were given this wisdom, remember?: "The cream is going to rise, boys"! Coach Bookout L. D. Bell 1965 |

Comment: Hi! I've been living in Colorado about 14 years now, and so far the Lord, Jesus, has seen fit to keep me moving (even if a lot more slowly ha) x-country skiing, hiking, kayaking, utv-ing, and training my poochie dogs. I hope you will visit with me please on Facebook under "Carolyn Yvonne". I wish you love, and the best love is God's for you. I've come to know over 45 years that Jesus is a real, living person Who made us and know He and His thoughts (in Bible) are what are always best for us. I realized back in Hurst jr. High that I was a sinner who needed Him to be my Savior and He has taken wonderful care of me, His sheep, ever since. Know that He left us His love letter and road map through this world--the Holy Bible, His "Manufacturer's Handbook". He is the very best Gift I could wish for you, dear classmates. He is "the", not "a", Truth Who will set and keep you free and with joyful hope as well. I've learned through Facebook, that many of you know what I'm saying is true, so you also know there is nothing more important that I could have shared here with you.
What kind of school activities did you participate?: | Raiderettes, Raider Rousers, fun years of Camp Fire Girls, and while I spent much time working to receive the Girls Athletic Award in 10th and no.4 academic standing in our class, I later realized all that time would have been more importantly spent in getting to know you better back then . |
What personality would portray you if a movie were made about your life?: | The woman Jesus told about in the Bible, Luke 7:36-50 (those who are conscious of their sin appreciate Him for dying in their place and love Him the most-like me, an ex professional belly dancer with Carol Shannon in the seventies) |

Comment:
It just does not seem that long ago that I was living in Hurst, TX. I was one of those "lucky" kids who attended grades 1 thru 12 in the HEB
schools. How many of you can say the same thing-let me know. After graduation I went off to college-The University of Oklahoma. Guess who else was there? Bruce Arnold and Don Pfrimmer (he was a Captain of the OU football team). Upon graduation in 1969 I got a letter from Uncle Sam requesting my "assistance" defending the USA. Of course, I accepted the offer and all the FTA (Fun/Travel/Adventure) the US Army could offer. I spend 6 years as an enlisted man reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant before heading to Ft. Benning to attend OCS (Officer Candidate School). Upon receiving my commission I continued servicing until Feb 1993. There is a chance some us served at the same locations since many of you were in the military due to the draft at the time. I had 4 tours in the Far East, along with tours at the following posts: Ft. Lewis, Ft. Gordon (3 times), Ft. Benning, Ft. Rucker, Ft. Huachuca (3 times), Ft. Worth (607th MP BN) and McDill AFB. Some of the "side trips" courtesy of the US Army where: Egypt, Germany, Spain, Oman, Pakistani and Saudi Arabia. Upon retiring I worked for Nationwide Financial Services as their National Wholesaler of Financial Products. I have two sons, Philip and Anthony, both college graduates and veterans. Anthony with the 82nd Airborne Division and now the IT Manager and Compliance Officer for Toshiba of North American in Irvine, CA and Philip with the USAF for 10 years. Philip had 4 tours in Iraq and one in Afghaistan as an EOD specialist. If you saw the movie "Hurt Locker" you get the idea what he was doing. He is now with the State Department. So far he has been sent to Yemen, Libya and Somali-what garden spots! But, for now he is back in the states. My wife, Youn retired from the US Dept of HUD after 25 years of service as a GS-12. Well that is about it for me. Oh, before I forget I want to clear up one of those "urban myths"-Paulette Davidson and I are not related! Take care. |
