March 03, 1947 Aledo Pier 1 Imports, IT Professional Married 1 Blocking dummy on the football team. I have met a Medal of Honor winner. Clint Eastwood
Been married to the most wondeful woman. Lois, since 1973.  She is a Registered Nurse, who spent many years in the hospital environment as a cardiovascular nurse.  Today, Lois is an elementary school nurse.  We have only one daughter, Sabrina, born in 1985.  She was a high school cheerleader, graduated from Texas A&M University (Whoop), who taught math and science in an elementary school.  She has since left teaching and is a Communication Specialist with Pier 1 Imports.  She is married with a 5-year old step-daughter and a 3-year old daughter of her own.  I love my grand girls.

About me.   After high school, I attended NTSU for one year where Gary Harbin and I were roommates in the West Dorm.  After goofing off for a year, I joined the US Army and trained as a helicopter mechanic.  I subsequently spent 22 months, churning up the skies of Vietnam in a Huey Helicopter.  During this time, I crossed paths with Kenny Lasater and served with some of the most couragous men I will ever know and will remember them for the rest of my life.  I did survive with all my body parts intact.

Now days, I have worked for Pier 1 Imports here in the Fort Worth home office since 1980 (that's 35-years and counting).  I have no immediate plans to retire.  Lois and I live in Aledo west of Fort Worth.

I have enjoyed working on the Reunion Committee and I have learned more about some of you than I was ever aware of in high school.  I'am so glad to have reconnected with all of you.

Prescott Retired Married 1 Football, track, honor society Bruce Lee
A lot of changes since our last reunion.  Geneta retired from Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals in 2010 and I retired from Boeing Mesa in 2012.  After I retired, we moved from Mesa, AZ to Prescott, AZ.  We now live in Prescott in the mountains at an altitude of 5,500 feet.  We lost both our dogs in 2015 in February and March so we are currently petless.  Our son Trent still lives in Flagstaff, AZ and works for the AZ Dept of Transportation.  His wife Sheila works for Northern Arizona University.  We play even more tennis now than before we retired usually 4 or 5 days a week.  We are still snow skiing at least one time each year and we spend two weeks in South Lake Tahoe every summer playing tennis, mountain biking and hiking.  We have found a new church in Prescott, Heights Church, and have become very active there.  We have both become involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters.  I have an 11 year old "Little" boy and Geneta has 7 and 9 year old sister "Littles" girls.  They keep us busy when we are not on the tennis court.  We still travel to our condo in Mexico (Puerto Penasco) often in the winter.  I know it's a cliche' but, it's true, neither of us know how we ever had time to work!   Send Larry a MessageSend Larry a Message

Farmington retired teacher/ Parish Administrator & church organist Single band I went to Mardi Gras my senior year at North Texas ((1969) with Phyllis George who became Miss America 1971. While stationed at Homestead AFB in 1971, I got to be an escort at the Miss Universe pageant (escorted Miss Guam)

After graduation from LDB, I went to North Texas majoring in French and music (pipe organ) where I graduated in 1969. I was commissioned in the USAF and spent five great years stationed in Homestead (just outside of Miami), Thailand, and northern Japan.

In 1977, I got a Master’s degree in English and my teaching certificate. After 3 years teaching in Clovis, NM, I got a job teaching French and English (which in NM is two foreign languages) in a small town in what’s called the Four Corners Area of New Mexico. I live at the foot of the Rockies but still on the High Desert (7,000’ altitude). In 45 minutes I can be in Durango, Colo. and skiing at Purgatory Ski Resort.

I never married; the “itchy foot of the Yerby’s” kept me from wanting to settle down (It's been said of me that I'd to go to Hell just for the trip). Being a French teacher, I’ve taken many trips to France, often with students.
Now retired from teaching, I work as the Parish Administrator at St. John's Episcopal Church and play the organ on Sundays. My first young adult mystery, The Secret of the Haunted House, was recently published, and I'm working on rewritting the old Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys mysteries but modernizing them by giving the characters cell phones, laptops, and video games.

I am really looking forward to attending this Reunion! It’s gonna be a blast!

March 05, 1947 Bastrop RETIRED 2014: Associate Director in an association Married 2 Raiderettes
I retired in 2014 (after 21 years) as an Associate Executive Director for the Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education in Austin - a non-profit association. It was a wonderful group to work for and gave me a chance to travel all over the US.  I am happily married to my high school sweetheart Johnnie 'Bugsy' Carr. We have been together since our Senior year (50 years) - and have been married for nearly 47. We have 2 daughters - and 5 grandchildren - all living near us in the Austin/Bastrop area. Although we experienced a great deal of loss from the Bastrop wildfires of 2011, we have re-built our home and feel that we have been very blessed.  Send Judy a MessageSend Judy a Message

December 07, 1946 Grapevine retired/American Airlines Widowed 3
I married a wonderful guy after graduating high school. Unfortunately, Uncle Sam decided he wanted him shortly thereafter.  So, for the first three years of our marriage we did a lot of traveling and wound up in Germany for a year and a half.  It was a learning experience for me and something I will never forget.  Wish I had taken German in high school.  We then settled down and God blessed us with 3 wonderful sons.  In 1986, I joined the corporate world and retired in July 2010 after 24 years at American Airlines.  My husband passed away in April 2013 after a lengthy illness.  Went to El Salvador in Oct. 2014 with the BMMA missions.  Hope to do more of that in the future and have fun with my 5 grandchildren.
